Thank you for checking out my new Biology blog. I'm hoping to develop this site into a catch-all for the many resources that I use online for my Biology classes.
Nice interior shot of the Puerto Rican rain forest. Did you visit there? For study, pleasure or both?
I happened to see Jean-Michel Cousteau's 2008 "Return to the Amazon" on PBS last night. Very interesting ecology and sociology. Climatically we are so connected to the rain forests! Here's a link to his resource page in case you're interested. http://tinyurl.com/n6jqrx
Dennis, My husband and I traveled to Puerto Rico in July of 2008. It is such a beautiful place, and while we were hiking in the only rain forest in the U.S. Territories, I snapped that picture of the little palm. It just struck me so...here it was trying to grow under all that canopy...and it was going to reach the sun no matter what! It is so true that we are directly affected by the health of our rainforests!
